Citybus

Currently, Citybus Limited is in charge of two existing bus networks, namely Citybus Hong Kong Island and North Lantau. Both companies operate more than 299 routes as of June 2022. The combined firm will invest over HK$3.5 billion over the 10-year franchise term.

Among the bus services operated by the two companies are shuttle services between airport and AsiaWorld-expo, and shuttle services between airport and surrounding areas. They also jointly operate some cross-harbour routes.

Citybus Hong Kong Island provides a HK$2 fare concession for passengers aged 60-64. A personalised Octopus card is required for fare payment on public holidays. The Octopus can also be used to pay for monthly passes.

Citybus Limited has announced a new common livery for its buses. The new livery includes an image of the city, as well as the company logo. It also features photographs of ex-London Transport DMSs. In addition, the company has announced plans to operate low-entry MAN RR8 suburban buses.

KMB

Having started out in 1933, the KMB lantau bus was one of the first bus companies in the world to operate double-deckers. In the early 1980s, KMB started testing double-deck air-conditioned buses.

In 1998, KMB established a subsidiary called Long Win Bus, which served Tung Chung and the new Hong Kong International Airport. It also provided service on the Lantau Link to Tung Chung.

In 2012, KMB announced that they would no longer operate non-air-conditioned buses. In addition, they started trials of solar powered air-conditioning on double-deck buses. In September 2017, KMB began testing a solar-powered air conditioning system on a double-deck bus. The company plans to add more solar panels to other double-deck buses in their fleet.

In 2018, the company applied for CityBus and New World First Bus routes. It plans to replace all its pre-Euro buses with Euro V models.

NLB

Xin Da Yu Shan Ba Shi NLB bus service has a number of bus routes running across Hong Kong. They include: A35 which connects the airport in the southern part of Lantao Island to Mui Wo in the northern part. They also have route 1R which connects Hung Hom in Kowloon to Ngong Ping. It has 10 stops.

NLB also operates a cross-border bus route, from Yuen Long MTR station to Deep Bay border checkpoint. They also have a series of routes in the New Territories. Their fares range from $3.4 to $47.2. They have a fleet of 120 buses. They are primarily single deck buses, although they have a few double deck buses. They operate on the island and are also used by tourists.

Hiking on Lantau

Located on the island of Lantau in Hong Kong, the Lantau Peak is the second highest mountain in Hong Kong. The cable car has a total of two cable systems. The first is the Ngong Ping Cable Car, which connects Tung Chung with Ngong Ping. The second is the Crystal Cabin, which offers panoramic views of the South China Sea, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the bouncing vegetation hillsides.

The cable car system is the largest aerial cable car system in the world. It features eight support towers, a 5.6 km emergency rescue trail, and a passenger transport interchange. It also includes helicopter landing pads.
